Body of woman, 19, found in unit
An urgent investigation is underway after a young woman was found dead at an apartment in Sydney’s sought-after Eastern Suburbs.
Emergency services were called to the housing commission unit block on Hardy St in North Bondi shortly after 9am on Tuesday after reports a woman was found unresponsive.
The woman is yet to be formally identified, however is believed to be 19-years-old.
A 32-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s older partner, was arrested at the home and is assisting police with their investigation.
In a statement, NSW Police said the man was wanted on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
“About 9.20am today emergency services were called to a unit on Hardy Street, North Bond, following reports a woman was found unresponsive,” the statement said.
“Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended, alongside NSW Ambulance paramedics, and located the body of a woman – who is yet to be formally identified, however is believed to be 19 years of age.”
Police have since established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detectives wearing blue latex gloves have also been pictured at the unit, while forensics officers were seen clearing evidence out of the unit.
Neighbours told 9News the incident was “shocking”, but the building, which is understood to be a block of housing commission, is a “magnet for police”.
Evidence bags can be seen just outside the door of the unit.
Multiple areas of the unit have been roped off by police, including a reg garbage bin.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
