Body found in shopping centre carpark had been 'hidden for six weeks'

A decomposing body which was found in a Texas car park may have been there for six weeks before it was discovered by a Walmart employee, police say.

CCTV showed the 60-year-old man’s SUV pulling into the southern Dallas carpark in early February.

His body was found on Tuesday afternoon (local time).

The employee who discovered the body described seeing what they thought was blood coming from the car, but the cause of the death remained undetermined at this point.

According to police, the man’s body was found in the back seat of the car as if he had laid down to sleep.

While some local media have released the man’s identity, authorities are refusing to disclose his name until they have notified his next of kin.

A report has been prepare for the coroner.
