A father whose baby girl died suddenly has posted a heartbreaking tribute, saying he was “blessed” to have been her father, after a police probe was announced into her death.

Emergency services rushed to a Mermaid Beach unit block on the Gold Coast on Tuesday after two-year-old Valentina Rose Jessep was found dead after 8am.

Police are now investigating the sudden death but have not said the incident is suspicious.

Her father Harley Jessep has spoken out about how his daughter changed his life in a tribute on Facebook.

“You have touched so many hearts,” Mr Jessep said.

“I just want you to know that daddy loves you so so much and I will always be blessed to have been your father you changed my life baby girl.

“Your mother and I will always remember and Cherish your beautiful little soul princess I love you to the f***ing moon and back.”

A friend of the family said the family was awaiting autopsy results “to find out exactly what caused this sudden passing” on a GoFundMe started to raise funds for her funeral.

The campaign has raised $1335 out of its $10,000 goal so far.

“We are absolutely devastated by Valentina’s unsuspecting passing and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service,” campaign organiser Monique Monneron said.

“Tahlia and Harley have lost their only baby girl to an unknown reason. Their worlds have shattered, and their baby girl is no longer earth side.”

Those who knew Valentina were quick to respond with kind words about the little girl.

“Valentina, you lit up every heart you touched sweet baby girl. Unna loves you so so much and I will carry you in my Heart Forever,” one person said on social media.

“F*** off the worst thing to read this morning poor little girl we will love and cherish every moment of your beautiful little life,” another said.
