A group of Bengal tigers have savagely killed a rare white tiger after zoo staff accidentally left the gate to the enclosure open.
White tigers Amar and Shreyas wandered into the Bengal area at Bannerghatta Biological Park in southwest India on Sunday while the gates were reportedly opened for safari vehicles.
Footage shows Shreyas being mauled by the other animals as staff desperately try to beep their car horns to stop the fight.
Amar only suffered injuries to his paw, but Shreyas was unable to be saved and died a few days later, MailOnline reported.
An investigation has since been launched into the tiger death.
"In the meanwhile, we have also instituted an inquiry to find out why such a mishap happened," C Jayaram, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests said.
"Both the Bengal tigers are fine and they have been treated."
