Barbie's post-credit scene includes deleted Mattel crossover joke

Barbie's IMAX release has revealed several new post-credits scenes, including one that features an unlikely Mattel crossover.

The film is currently being screened for a limited run in select IMAX cinemas across the US, with movie-goers now able to enjoy previously unseen footage from the Barbieverse (via Entertainment Weekly).

Included in the post-credits footage is a deleted scene that shows the CEO of Mattel (Will Ferrell) go to extreme lengths in finding true love for Barbie — even suggesting to match her with children's TV characters Barney the Dinosaur and Thomas the Tank Engine.

"What Mattel products can she date?" one of the Mattel staff enquires after Barbie rejects Ken, to which another replies: "So, um, Barney is going through a divorce."

"No, I don't wish Barney on anyone," another responds before Hot Wheels, Pictionary, and a Magic 8 ball are suggested as potential suitors for Barbie.

In a hilarious moment, the "recently single" Thomas the Tank Engine is then suggested. "Barbie, how do you feel about trains, sweetie?" one Mattel worker asks.

Other newly revealed scenes feature Ryan Gosling's Ken singing his version of Cyndi Lauper's 'Girls Just Want to Have Fun', titled 'Boys Just Want to Have Fun', and more interactions between Ken and Kate McKinnon's Weird Barbie.

There's also a moment when narrator Helen Mirren breaks the fourth wall after pregnant doll Midge (Emerald Fennell) goes into labour.
