Balloon release for teenager killed in crash
Hundreds of people have attended a memorial for a 14-year-old boy killed in a car crash.
Ellis Lockley died when the Vauxhall Corsa he was a passenger in crashed on Tarn Lane, near Keighley, last Sunday.
A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remains on bail.
Helium balloons were released by friends and family who gathered at a roundabout on the Braithwaite estate on Friday.
The tribute to the youngster was arranged on social media and a fundraising appeal for the family has raised more than £3,000.
His mother Natalie Hey, 34, was at the memorial along with other relatives.
The family said in a statement earlier this week his death had left "a massive hole" in their hearts.
It added: “We as a family are totally devastated at the loss of our beautiful boy Ellis.
"We have received so much love and support from the community, he is so loved by everyone who knew him."
Three other people were also injured in the crash on Sunday.
Police have appealed for anyone who saw the silver Corsa or who may have seen an Audi and a Toyota Yaris in the area between 13:30 and 14:30 BST to get in touch.
Det Insp Paul Conroy said specially trained officers were continuing to support Ellis's family.
“We are keen to trace anyone who was travelling along Tarn Lane, which is known locally as ‘Yorkshire Bumps’ junction of Black Hill Lane and Green Sykes Road, who may have seen a silver Vauxhall Corsa driving in the area."
