Baby injured after falling four metres out of Sydney window

An 11-month-old boy has fallen from a window in Sydney’s southwest.

NSW Paramedics were called to the scene in Claymore, near Campbelltown, where it was reported the baby fell four metres from a window just after 3:30pm (local time) on Friday.

“This was a terrifying incident for the family and for emergency services involved – you never know what you are going to be faced with when you get to a scene like this,” NSW Ambulance Duty Operations Manager Inspector David Kynaston said.

Two crews and the NSW Ambulance Toll Rescue Helicopter were dispatched.

The little boy was taken to The Children’s Hospital in Westmead in a stable condition

“Our paramedics did an amazing job on stabilising the child before taking him to hospital,” Mr Synaston said.

NSW Ambulance said the incident was an important reminder for parents to stay vigilant around young children.

“Young children are naturally curious and don’t recognise danger so we reminding people to be vigilant and make sure there are things in place to help prevent these horrific accidents from happening,” the service said.
