Nine-month-old baby found dead inside Sydney home

A nine-month-old baby has been found dead inside a home in Sydney's west.

Emergency services were called to a Doonside home on Yindi Place just after 10am on Monday following a concern for welfare check, NSW Police say.

The child was found unresponsive and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

However, the baby could not be revived.

They also said screaming was often heard coming from the home.

NSW police confirmed with Yahoo News Australia an investigation is underway. It's not yet known how the baby died.

"Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death," they said in a statement.

The parents of the child are assisting the police who confirmed no arrests or charges have been made.
