'It's insane': Footage emerges of shopping centre brawl over baby formula

Video has emerged of people fighting over tins of baby formula in Sydney’s south.

Footage obtained by Nine News shows a woman on the ground kicking a man with a trolley at Woolworths Hurstville.

The video also shows a woman standing next to him and screams are heard.

Another woman walks over and swings her bag at the man and the two begin fighting.

A fellow shopper tries to calm the situation, but his pleas are ignored.

On Twitter, people were shocked by the video.

“Crazy,” one man tweeted.

“It's insane that they fight over it,” another woman tweeted.

It’s not clear when the brawl occurred or if the people involved in the video were buying baby formula in bulk.

Yahoo News has contacted Woolworths for comment.

It’s not the first time shoppers have been filmed getting into a stoush over the tins either.

In January, shoppers were filmed clamouring over baby formula in a Melbourne supermarket.

A Melbourne man claimed in June he witnessed 10 people accumulate about 100 tins of baby formula from a Woolworths supermarket in the CBD.

Last month, Yahoo News investigated why China has a surging interest in Australia’s baby formula.
