'You're a legend': Woolworths manager praised for thoughtful act amid bushfire threat
A Woolworths manager has been praised for his “Aussie spirit” amid the devastating bushfire crisis in NSW.
A local gave a shout out to the manager – known only as Allen – from Woolworths in Vincentia Marketplace for helping load up a ute with supplies to help bushfire victims in the area.
“All thanks to Allen and his team,” Kieran Smyth posted on Facebook.
“Allen couldn’t have been happier to throw in more water and baby needs as we got word there are infants with no access to formula or nappies.
“The Aussie spirit couldn’t be more alive.”
Many people commented on the post, praising the manager and his employees.
“You’re a legend,” one said.
“You guys are amazing,” another commented.
A Woolworths spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia it was just one of many examples of team members who had gone above and beyond to support their local community.
“We’d like to thank them for their continuous work in not only keeping our stores operating in impacted regions to ensure the local community has food and water, but their ongoing support to those in need, as well as our partners The Salvation Army in the evacuation centres and also local rural fire services crew.
“Many of our team have themselves been directly impacted by the fires and we continue to provide them with ongoing support.”
