How Aussies can win their own beachfront villa in Vanuatu
Australians have the chance to claim their very own slice of paradise in Vanuatu, with a five-star villa up for grabs in a first-of-its-kind raffle.
Located on Efate, Vanuatu's most populous island, the two-bedroom property is part of Valé Valé Beachfront Villas and is valued at $380,000.
The prize is being offered as part of a fundraising raffle starting on September 1, with less than 10,000 tickets available.
The villa is complete with a built-in plunge pool, it features floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a private balcony. There's also air-conditioning and the villa is completely furnished.
"ValéValé’s white-sand beach and its crystalline turquoise waters frame a gently undulating landscape," Travel Vanuatu says of the resort.
"Here, nestled amongst palm trees, frangipani and wild orchids, sits a collection of villas that embrace their natural surroundings—the sun, its reflection off the water, the cooling Pacific breeze and the sounds of the sea."
Transfer duties and legal fees are covered as part of the prize.
Travel Vanuatu says while the island of Efate is not the biggest, it is a tourism hub, with financial and commercial activities.
Valé Valé Beachfront Villas is just moments away from Vanuatu's capital, Port Vila. The series of islands that make up the nation are a mere 2.5-hour flight from Brisbane.
Raffle to fund youth projects
The Salter Foundation, a Melbourne-based charitable organisation, is behind the incredible prize. The raffle will close at 8pm on December 31.
All money raised will go to philanthropic interests and registered charities through the Salter Foundation.
The mission of the Salter Foundation, started in 2008, is to "enable all youth to reach their highest potential regardless of race, religion, environment or economic situation".
Raffle ticket packages starting at $50 can be purchased from South Pacific Dream, a licensed entity operating the raffle on behalf of The Salter Foundation.
The raffle is not available to Western Australian or South Australian residents.
