Three iconic animals captured frolicking in one photo - but can you spot them all?

If ever you needed a photo that summed up Australia’s iconic wildlife, this is it.

At first glance, the incredible snapshot captured somewhere in rural Australia looks to be focused on a kangaroo seeking some shade – but there’s much more to it.

Just to the right, a snake can be seen slithering around a sizeable old gumtree.

An even closer inspection reveals another beloved Australian animal, the kookaburra, perched on a branch just inches away.

Some amused Reddit users started theorising on what was happening in the photo, while others simply praised Australia’s incredible wildlife.

“That snake looks like it’s hiding from the Kookaburra. I’ve seen them hunt and eat snakes,” one person wrote.

“It is an honour to share the bush with the likes of these.”

“This is how I know I will die in the outback. I didn’t spot the snake until someone else pointed it out to me,” another said.

“It’s the Australian version of paper scissors rock. Kookaburra eats snake. Snake bites kangaroo. Kangaroo boxes Kookaburra,” another joked.
