Aussie passenger captures man's outrageous act on plane

'I’ve flown on more than 800 flights to 147 countries and never seen anything like it.'

An experienced Aussie traveller says he’s “seen it all” after a fellow plane passenger made himself exceptionally comfortable on a recent flight.

Douglas Lazic-Kirk, who is reportedly from NSW’s Central Coast, said the man’s incredibly bold movie act left him no choice but to pull out his phone and capture it on video, which he later uploaded to TikTok.

In the clip, the confident passenger can be seen using a pocket film projector to watch the 2000 Mel Gibson film The Patriot — with subtitles — on the overhead compartments of the cabin across from him. The projector’s light reflects onto other travellers who appear to be trying to focus on their own small screens in front of them.

Mr Douglas Lazic-Kirk told Storyful that the man had “three seats to himself” and just “put it on to watch”.

“I’ve flown on more than 800 flights to 147 countries and never seen anything like it,” he said.

The avid traveller told USA Today on Thursday he had seen a lot of odd behaviour on planes, such as people putting their feet on other seats, but was shocked by this man’s audacity.

“I’m flying a lot, to see that on the plane just blew my mine. That’s what made me start filming,” he said.

Passenger spots big problem with plane's entertainment

Last month, American stand-up comedian Brad Klein pointed out a glaring oversight on his eight-hour Scandinavian Airlines flight. He was scrolling through the list of movies on his TV screen when he made the disappointing discovery.

“I’m on an airplane and we need to talk about something,” the 34-year-old told his 31,000 followers on Instagram.

“There are 99 movies I can watch on this flight, 99 okay. But only five have captioning. Five.” Mr Klein, whose mum and dad are both deaf, complained how little options there were for those with hearing loss.
