Aussie highways claim another life

A 67-year-old man has died in hospital following a horror multi-vehicle crash in NSW central west.

Emergency services were called to the Golden Highway Cassilis about 11.30am on September 18 after receiving reports of a collision involving three vehicles.

An Isuzu D-MAX utility, a Ford Ranger utility and a Mazda CX-5 were all involved in the crash.

The 67-year-old man who was driving the Ford was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a critical condition.

He died in hospital on Sunday, nearly two weeks after the incident.

The driver of the Isuzu, a 29-year-old man, was treated at the scene and taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.

The third driver, a 63-year-old woman, was uninjured but taken to Merriwa Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and subsequently underwent forensic examination.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police have urged any witnesses or anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers.
