Virgin drops epic $49 flight sale
Virgin Australia has launched its first sale of the year, offering half a million fares for as low as $49.
In a move the airline hopes will inspire Australians to “trade work meetings for holidays,” hundreds of thousands of domestic and international seats are now on sale, for travel between January 29 and late November.
The cheapest flight is a one-way economy lite trip from Sydney to Ballina (Byron Bay), which will set travellers back just $49.
Internationally, return flights from Brisbane to Port Vila, Vanuatu, start at $419; with flights from Sydney to Denpasar, Bali from $549.
Virgin Australia said the sale was for the Aussies who needed a “holiday after the holidays”.
The sale runs until 11.59pm January 22, and all sale fares include frequent flyer points and status credits.
