Boy, 17, fighting for life after Anzac Day assault

A teenage boy is fighting for life after an Anzac Day assault in Melbourne's southeast, with two offenders on the run.

The 17-year-old was found with critical injuries on Lucern Crescent at Frankston about 1.10am on Thursday after police were called to reports of an assault.

The teen has upper body injuries and was taken to The Alfred Hospital, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

It is believed two offenders ran from the scene towards Ballam Park and police have appealed for public information.
