Outspoken anti-vaxx TV network CEO dies after contracting Covid
An outspoken anti-vaxxer Christian broadcaster has died from Covid-19 just weeks after contracting it.
Marcus Lamb, CEO and founder of the conservative Christian Daystar Television Network who was also outspoken against Covid-19 restrictions, has died at age 64, his Texas-based company confirmed on Tuesday.
"It’s with a heavy heart we announce that Marcus Lamb, president and founder of Daystar Television Network, went home to be with the Lord this morning," Daystar Tweeted alongside a picture of Mr Lamb with his wife Joni Lamb.
"The family asks that their privacy be respected as they grieve this difficult loss. Please continue to lift them up in prayer."
One week prior to the 64-year-old’s death, his son, Jonathan Lamb, and wife urged their supporters to pray for his recovery.
'Spiritual attack from the enemy'
During a Daystar broadcast on November 23, Joni Lamb called in from her husband’s hospital bedside, NBC News reports.
"With this thing, it's kind of like riding a roller coaster," she said.
"It's like, you'll just be up and everything's great, and then you have a little lull, and then you come down low and then you come back up, but from everybody that I talk to — I think that's the pattern," she said.
"We can really feel the prayers of the people," she said, thanking viewers.

"Pray specifically for his lungs to clear the Covid pneumonia and pray for his oxygen level to continue to be strong and to go up so that we can wean him off of oxygen and bring him home," she said.
Mr Lamb’s son said his father’s Covid infection was "a spiritual attack from the enemy" intended to “take down” the 64-year-old, NBC News reports.

Following his dad's death, Jonathan took to Twitter to share his grief.
"I'm at a loss for words today. My father was promoted to heaven at 4am this morning. His life was truly well-lived and there’s no doubt that he heard 'well done my good and faithful servant' when he entered heaven’s gates," he wrote on Wednesday.
Mr Lamb and Daystar — based in Bedford, Texas, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area — have promoted views opposing Covid-19 vaccines and restrictions to stop the spread of the disease.
The network’s programs have featured vaccine skeptics and health care professionals who promote alternative Covid-19 treatments.
It’s unclear whether Lamb received a Covid-19 vaccine.
In recent months, a number of prominent anti-vaccination Christian broadcasters have died from the virus.
Radio hosts Dick Farrell, Phil Valentine and Marc Bernier, who were unvaccinated, all died after they contracted the virus.
