Love Triangle's second season hasn't even premiered yet but one of the leading singles found himself in hot water after being spotted looking cosy with Alyssa Barmonde from Married at First Sight.

Alan Wallace is one of the six main singles looking for love on Stan's upcoming reality show Love Triangle, but footage emerged last week of the upcoming reality star getting close with Alyssa.

Pop culture podcast So Dramatic! broke the news, saying the two hooked up, which caused Alyssa to take to the page's Instagram and vehemently deny the accusations, disputing the fact that the two were kissing.

In the footage, Alyssa is seen with her arms around Alan's neck: while they don't appear to kiss, they look to be talking intimately.

When asked about being caught looking cosy with Alyssa from MAFS, Alan was quick to laugh and shrug off the rumours when speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle.

"Look, it's just a bit of a rumour I think," he laughed. "I'll keep it pretty short and sharp."

"These things [articles] that were saying we were dating for two weeks, it's a lot of s***, it wasn't the case. I was just out after filming, it wasn't really a big deal, it's been over-talked about, to be honest," he said.

With the reality show premiering on Stan on October 5, it could be questioned why Alan, an ex-semi-professional AFL player and business owner, struggles to find love or connection in the modern-day dating world.

However the 32-year-old thinks dating apps can cause people to judge others on looks alone — and that's something he's struggled with after finding women may label him as a f***boy.

"I think it's because of how I look a little bit, I've got tattoos, I probably have that 'pretty boy look', if you went on my profile on Tinder or something you'd probably look at me and go 'oh s***'," he told Yahoo Lifestyle.

"A lot of people just look at me and think 'oh he's a bit of a red flag' or 'you're trouble' and it's the same conversation most girls start off with, so that's why I stopped using the apps in the end, it's the same old story."

But there's more to the electrician than meets the eye, with Alan going through hardship as a teen when he was diagnosed with blood cancer.

"People do judge quickly about [others] before you've even scratched the surface. Even with dating going forward, people don't think about those sorts of things when you meet people," he said about his past illness.

"They just think 'oh he's had a normal upbringing, he's had an easy go of it'. So I think for me personally I was a little insecure about my looks, even though I'm pretty happy with how I look [now]," Alan laughed, before turning serious.

"But growing up, I didn't have hair for two years, it was so hard, man, that was the hardest thing for me, I was really self-conscious because I didn't look like everyone else. I still doubt myself a bit, even though I probably shouldn't," he said.

Love Triangle premieres on Stan, October 5.
