'Just wow': Aldi shopper blown away by customer's kind gesture

A woman has taken to social media to thank a generous stranger who paid for her groceries.

The Aldi shopper said she let a man in front of her in the checkout as he only had a few items and she was doing a bulk buy, when she got to the register the cashier informed her the man had paid $50 towards her grocery bill.

“Wow just wow I’m so humbled in the generosity of a stranger in Seymour Aldi today,” the Victorian woman posted along with an image of a receipt to show $50 had been paid as part of her almost $230 grocery bill.

“Wow he so didn’t have to do that and I appreciate it very much just goes to show kindness goes along way,” she added.

“That is so lovely, now when you can afford it pass it on. There are some beautiful humans that walk this earth,” one person responded.

“Beautiful! I love this,” another commented.

The story provoked other people to share kind gestures they had experienced from strangers.

“I had someone pay for my coffee at a drive through one day and it’s not the amount it’s just the gesture it really makes your day and puts a smile on your face,” one person wrote.

Other people suggested it was good karma for the woman letting the man in front of her.

“So sweet I think it’s amazing when people put others before them when they only have a few items, he obviously appreciates your kindness,” a user wrote.

“Look how much kindness and joy a small act has multiplied into,” another person wrote.
