ALDI recalls children's train set over potential choking hazard

ALDI has been forced to recall a popular children’s toy over fears it is a choking hazard.

The store and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission both issued warnings over the jungle train wooden railway set with Jack ‘N’ Jill packaging.

The train set is made up of 14 pieces.

The consumer watchdog said in a statement the set was “not compliant” with product safety standards for children up to and including three years old.

“Small parts may cause choking, suffocation, or death in young children,” the ACCC’s statement reads.

The product has been on shelves since May 30 but was pulled on June 13.

It can returned to ALDI stores for a full refund.
