Terrifying footage shows pilot restart engine moments before hitting ground
A pilot has miraculously pulled his plane to safety with just seconds to spare after its engine cut out and sent the aircraft plummeting to the ground.
Chad Barber, 26, was just metres from a potentially fatal crash while he practiced aerobatics in a biplane after flying out of Pompano Beach, Florida, US.
Heart-stopping GoPro footage shows the plane's propeller cut out before the aircraft begins to fall.
The plane dramatically drops, precariously close to a field below before he manages to re-engage the engine.
The propeller can be seen kicking back in, allowing a relieved Mr Barber to pull away.
"Oh my God!" Mr Barber can be heard exclaiming.
"Survival was the first thing, I focused on surviving. I did a little quick prayer in the 45 seconds that it had all happened," he told US television station 7 News Miami.
“I said, ‘Don’t let this be my last day. Lord, don’t let it be my last day'."

Mr Barber has released the nail-biting footage from last May in a bid to help other pilots who find themselves in similar scenarios.
“I want people to understand that when something does go wrong, you should remain calm as a pilot. It makes you realize that you don’t have control of your life really.”
