Rodeo rider suffers horrendous injuries after head pierced by bull's horn

WARNING, GRAPHIC CONTENT: A 20-year-old NSW rodeo rider was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after his head was pierced by a bull's horn.

Rodeo rider Danny Worth was thrown off the bucking animal at the Wingham Rodeo, near Taree, on the NSW Mid North Coast on Saturday night, before his helmet was torn off.

The bull's horn went through Mr Worth's helmet, but he managed to crawl away from the animal and escape serious injury.

Pictures shared to his Facebook page on Sunday show the young man in good spirits despite sporting a huge bandage around his head, covering the wound and seven staples.

"I suffered two blows from a bull's horn to the head where the first one ripped my helmet clean off my head and the second gave me a gash along the top of my head," he wrote.
