Mum mysteriously disappears from front yard leaving children home alone
A mother has mysteriously disappeared from her front yard leaving her two children home alone.
TerriLynn St John, 23, from Middlesex County, Virginia in the US vanished from her home as she prepared to take her three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son to daycare around 7.30 on Tuesday morning (local time).
Ms St John's front door was discovered ajar by her parents with the two children inside the home.
Family members believe someone was stalking her when she went to her car in her front yard before a struggle ensued, US television station WTVR reported.
"They looked through the woods and you could definitely tell there has been a struggle beside my daughter's car," her father, Terry St John, said.
"Jewellery was all around, like it had been broken off, her cell phone was found in the bushes."
Middlesex County investigators said they knew the case was serious early on.
"We’re definitely treating it as suspicious," said Maj Michael Sampson.
