Woman's shocking reason for tossing dog from moving car
A US woman has been told to "grow up" after her shocking explanation when she was caught throwing her dog from a moving car.
Janet Byas, 43, from Springtown, Texas, allegedly flung her Chihuahua mix Pumpkin from her car at a popular dumping site in Weatherford on Thursday, US television station WFAA reported.
The land's owner, Vanessa, says she discovered a tentative Pumpkin roaming around her property and went to check cameras her family had set up to catch repeat offenders illegally dumping on their land.
She was left shocked after finding an image of Pumpkin being flung out of a vehicle and contacted the police immediately.
Parker County Sheriff's Office were able to track down Byas from her car registration, but say she initially denied her involvement.
But according to Sergeant Ricky Montgomery, Byas she came clean once he showed her the photo of the incident.
"She indicated that she was frustrated with the dog because it kept getting out of her property, and she couldn't handle it anymore," he revealed.
Sgt. Montgomery says he told Byas to "grow up" following her frank admission.

Byas is now facing a Class A misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty.
Vanessa says Pumpkin is one of dozens of dogs left at her property, which has resulted in them keeping 15 of the abandoned pups.
"It's just so sad because there are so many rescues, and so many other ways of doing this, she could've done something else," she said.
