"Stop, stop. Slow down. Slow down, slow down, slow down," the rider’s passenger said, pleading for the illegal race through Cowan to end.

"Oh, mate. I want to get off."

The rider tries to reassure him: "It's alright. Calm down."

NSW Police are shocked at the rider's stupidity, saying he reached speeds from zero to 153km/h in just seconds.

They say they know who the rider is and won't be letting him off either.

Traffic and Highway Patrol police believe both men belong to a secret biker group, known for reckless riding.

The video hasn't only angered police, but other motorcyclists as well.

"We, as the biking community, don't condone this sort of behaviour. And someone's got to stand up to it," biking enthusiast Luke, who wished to withhold his last name, told 7 News.

But the passenger had reason to panic.

Last year, rider Malcolm Jenkins was killed on the same stretch of Sydney’s Old Pacific Highway.

Mr Jenkins' friend Raffi Nercessian told 7 News the road was notoriously dangerous.

"One life is one too many lives.

"There needs to be some cameras, or either some speed humps or something that's going to deter these guys pushing it to the limit."

The sweeping bends will always be attractive to riders, but many are asking: ‘How many more lives have to be lost, before this stretch is made safer for all road users?’
