PE teacher sacked after boy breaks back doing forward roll
A teacher has reportedly been sacked after a schoolboy broke his back attempting a forward roll on a mat in a PE class.
The incident was captured on CCTV cameras inside a school gymnasium in the Russian capital of Moscow.
The footage shows the teenager, named only as Alexander K., approaching the mat under the instruction of a PE teacher.
As his classmates look on, Alexander dives onto the mat but lands awkwardly, on his head, and is left laid flat out, unable to move.
Realising something has gone badly wrong, the teacher gets down on her knees alongside Alexander as his shocked classmates gather around.
Alexander was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with a compression fracture of his spine.

Doctors say they managed to save the damaged nerve endings in his spine and that he will enjoy a normal life once he has recovered.
However, Alexander first faces the next two months lying flat on his back in hospital while his injuries heal.
He is believed to be in Year 5 which would make him about 10 or 11 years old.
The PE teacher was sacked from her job for failing to adequately supervise the exercise class. However, her fellow teachers are unhappy as they say the video clearly shows the boy did not follow her instructions.
