Grieving mum’s message to drivers after son killed in horror crash
A grieving mother is warning people not to drink and drive after she lost her son, a father to three young children, in a horror crash in western Sydney on Saturday.
David Williams, 28, lost control of his car and slammed into a tree on Stoney Creek Road at Shanes Park on Saturday morning about 2.30am, splitting his car in half.
He died at the scene. Police are still trying to determine if speed was a factor.
His mother, Cathy Williams, said her son, a father to two daughters and a son, was a "people person".
"He just got along with anyone and everyone," she said. "Meet him today and he'll be your best friend tomorrow."
Now Ms Williams, is pleading with drivers not to drink and drive.

"He probably had a few drinks at the camp ground," she said. "All I can advise is don't be stupid."
Without David, she is now responsible for installing the message of "don't drink and drive" in her grandchildren.
Inspector Sean Gavin from Mt Druitt Police said it was a terrible incident.
"It's terrible for family and for the attending police," he said. "It's a reminder to everyone in the festive season that you want to get home to family."
Local residents say the road has always been difficult to drive on at night because it's not lit and on Saturday night, it was raining.
"I will never see my son again because of this," Ms Williams said.
