WATCH: Child snatcher caught on CCTV grabbing girl in her family's shop

A child minding her family’s convenience store in China has been filmed desperately attempting to fight off a would-be kidnapper.

CCTV footage shows the seven-year-old girl facing shelves at the front of the store in the village of Dongguan in Guangdong Province by herself, when the man can be seen peaking around the corner.

After identifying that she was alone, the 36-year-old man with the last name of Huang can be seen entering the store and appearing to browse at some products near the girl.

With no customers in sight, Huang walks towards the girl and picks her up.

The child can be seen desperately attempting to hang on to the counter before he carries her outside the store.

Not long after leaving, onlookers heard the girl's cries for help and rushed to her aid.

Huang was stopped and detained until police arrived.

Police claimed Huang had been drinking with his colleagues and had no memory of what he had done to the girl.

The young girl was not injured in the attack.
