Kim Jong-un pictured in rare outing with his wife
Kim Jong-un has made a rare public appearance with his wife, touring a cosmetics factory which he thinks will help make North Korean women "more beautiful".
Ri Sol Ju has been absent from the public eye for much of 2017, with much speculation she gave birth to the pair’s third child around the start of the year.
A far cry from the missile testing ranges, the supreme leader was photographed laughing and smiling alongside Ri as they inspected a Pyongyang make-up factory.
The pair reportedly inspected the production control room, cosmetics, soap, and the sci-tech learning space.
In another glowing endorsement for the leader of the rogue nation, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Kim was very impressed by the gold standard cosmetics factories.
“The variety of cosmetics produced by the factory are numerous and qualitative, and that not only the pattern of their vessels but the packing boxes are very nice,” Kim said.
“It is the dream realised of women who want to be more beautiful.”
Due to the Pyongyang regime's tight secrecy, it is impossible to confirm the personal data of the members the Kim dynasty.
Very little is known about Ri, however South Korean intelligence officials tentatively identified her as a former pop singer for the Pochnobo Electronic Ensemble.
In 2012, North Korean state media abruptly announced that she was actually Kim’s wife.
While her public appearances are few and far between, she has recently been filmed celebrating a successful ballistic missile testing.
