A bargain German supermarket is set to challenge budget rivals by entering into the Australian market.
Kaufland is the latest in a long line of chains to break into the market, following in the footsteps of global supermarket Aldi, in a bid to disrupt Coles' and Woolworths' stronghold at the top.
But what does the European powerhouse have that will turn the eye of the Australian consumer?
With over 1230 stores across Europe, the supermarket rivals budget chains such as Aldi for price but instead of selling their own brands, Kaufland also boasts over 60,000 popular household products in store.
In a floor plan that's on average 15 times larger than Aldi premises and five times bigger than Coles' or Woolworths' branches, Kaufland shares similarities to wholesalers such as American retailer Costco but without the membership costs.

And the variety of products on offer will surely impress Australian shoppers with everything from household appliances to DIY tools for sale.
The company's first venture in Australia will be in Forrestville, Adelaide, after acquiring a $25million plot near Adelaide Airport.
Further plots have been earmarked in Melbourne and Brisbane with a view to expansion, Fairfax Media reported.
“Kaufland has an ambitious Australian investment and development program," their website reads.
"Therefore we are always looking to purchase suitable and appropriate sites."
The move will be the first time Kaufland, part of the Schwarz group which owns the discount Lidl supermarkets already operating across Europe, has opened a store in an English-speaking country.
