'Our Amy is dead': Parents share video to warn of party drug dangers

A young woman has died after taking an unknown party drug she believed was ecstasy before fitting "multiple times" and collapsing.

Amy Vigus, 20, managed to make it home on August 21 after spending a few days away in London where she took the substance and her parents performed CPR before rushing her to Colchester General Hospital.

The "violently ill" young woman was treated in the ICU, but tragically died.

"She lay there, hair in, eyelashes on, glitter in her hair, but no smile on her face," a video released by the heartbroken family said.

"The corridors of the hospital echoed with the cries and screams of her family members.

"Our Amy made a mistake, our Amy will never smile again, our Amy is dead."

Ms Vigus fitted a number of times before collapsing on the floor after taking the substance she believed was the party drug MDMA.
