Teacher quits over sultry selfie scandal
A teacher who was reportedly suspended for posting selfies in low-cut tops and tight dresses has quit her job.
The Sun reports Lydia Ferguson was arguing with senior staff over a number of “inappropriate” selfies on Facebook for two months.
But the 39-year-old mother of three told The Sun she “couldn’t go back” after the ordeal because she didn’t “want the stress of it anymore”.
“It’s taken up quite a lot of my life which has been quite hard,” she said.
Ms Ferguson worked at the Ousedale secondary, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, full-time as a learning mentor for children with behavioural problems for four years.
It was reportedly her first job in teaching.
She was suspended after some of her colleagues reported a Facebook photo of her sitting on the edge of a bed in a white dress.
Students reportedly started a petition called “Get Miss Ferguson Back,” which received more than 250 signatures.
It accused the 2000-pupil school of being too prudish.
“She is a brilliant teacher,” one student posted.
“She is there to help students who have problems like bullying and stuff.
“She does so much to help us and we’re so upset she’s been suspended.
“Not a single person thinks there is anything inappropriate about it.”
During her suspension Ms Ferguson told The Sun said she had her own policy for posting Facebook photos.

“I’ve always stuck to a rule on Facebook and Instagram that if my Grandad, bless his heart, would look at any of my pictures in disgust, I would never post them,” she said.
“I’m not worried about my pictures, but it seems some people are.”
A school spokesman confirmed Ms Ferguson was no longer employed by the school.
