WATCH: D-Day for Schapelle Corby, bound for Australia at last

Schapelle Corby has been given the green light to return home to Australia.

Indonesia's Justice Ministry has cleared Corby's return 12 years after her arrest in Bali.

It follows Seven News obtaining exclusive footage of Corby with her brother Michael inside her villa, one day before she is due to fly home.

She was seen peering over her brother’s shoulder just briefly in the first time she's been spotted in a month.

It’s a rare appearance for the 39-year-old who has asked for privacy in her finals days in Indonesia.

Her sister Mercedes pleaded earlier this month for her sister to be “left alone” before a cameraman was splashed with water outside the villa on Thursday.

A number of Bali officials have visited Corby at her Kuta home, as authorities raised security concerns about the media attention she is receiving before her departure.

Corby remained holed up in the villa in the backstreets of the popular Bali tourist spot, as increasing numbers of media from Australia arrived to cover her expected deportation on Saturday.

Kerobokan Prison doctor Anak Agung Gede Hartawan, as well as her long-time parole officer Ketut Sukiati visited her briefly on Friday morning.

"She's healthy. No sickness," Dr Hartawan told reporters.

Earlier on Friday Police Chief of Kuta precinct, Commissioner Wayan Sumara went to the home, saying he wanted to ensure everything was running well.

"I want to (ensure) safety and security for everybody ... by increasing the police keeping guard on the street around here and increasing positive opinion for tourism situation," he told reporters.

As of Friday lunchtime, however, police had yet to be stationed outside the home.

Corby was thrust into the spotlight after being caught with 4.kg of marijuana in her bodyboard bag at Denpasar airport in October 2004.

Authorities were anxious to ensure her departure from Indonesia is swift and seamless after almost 13 years of the drama-filled case.
