'It’s a pathway to heaven': Family given peace by bizarre crash photo

A family reportedly mourning the loss of two young mothers and a baby say they are comforted their loved ones have found peace by an odd photo from the crash site.

Hannah Simmons, 23, her nine-month-old daughter A’lannah, and friend Lauren Buteau, 28, from Georgia died in a car crash on April 25.

Today reports Ms Simmons lost control of her Subaru Legacy and hit another vehicle.

The crash caused a traffic jam and driver Anisa Gannon found herself in the thick of it as she drove to work giving her the opportunity to capture the unusual photo.

Ms Gannon sent the photo to her aunt, Tara Noble, to show she was running late.

On taking a closer look, Ms Noble noticed a beam of light shining on the fatal scene of the crash and within the beam two small orbs.

“Oh, my gosh. It’s a pathway to heaven,” she recalled saying.

The strange image may have been caused by lens flare or a reflection by Ms Noble said she didn’t believe in coincidences.

She sought out the family members of the victims to share the photo and Hannah’s mother Judy Simmons told Today the photo had given her closure.

"That picture was taken for a reason — to give me sanity," Simmons said.

"Hannah was also my best friend, and she’s looking down from heaven now."

Members of the community have since started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for funeral expenses for all three victims.
