United Airlines investigating reports a giant rabbit died onboard
United Airlines are facing another PR disaster amid claims a giant rabbit died in the cargo hold of one of its flights.
Simon, a 10-month-old 91cm continental giant rabbit, was on track to outgrow the world’s biggest rabbit.
But Simon’s owner Annette Edwards from Stoulton, Worcester claims he died in the cargo hold of a flight from Heathrow Airport to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
It's not known how Simon died.
The claim comes weeks after the airline made the headlines for having a doctor dragged off a plane by stewards at O’Hare airport.
CEO Oscar Munoz was forced to make an apology.
Ms Edwards told The Sun the rabbit was ‘fit as a fiddle’ after being checked by a vet three hours before his flight.
She said a famous client bought Simon and is ‘very furious.’
Ms Edwards, a former model, is a famous breeder of rabbits with a number growing to become the biggest in the world.
Her rabbit Roberto was crowned the world’s biggest rabbit by Guinness World Records in 2004.
United Airlines said they were saddened to hear Simon had died and were reviewing the matter.
