Lucky escape: Dash cam captures horrific moment car hits man

The shocking moment a man has been mowed down by a car on a rural country road has been captured on dash cam.

According to The Sun, Tom Wiltshire, 23, has captured the brutal moment he struck a man standing in the middle of a dark road on the dash cam of his vehicle.

The man was reportedly hit at the speed of 60mph however managed to escape the brutal collision with bruises.

The confronting footage shows the victim initially hit the bonnet, and then the windscreen of the green Skoda Citigo before eventually falling onto the road.

The man, The Sun reports, is believed to be a student on his way home from a ‘boozy’ summer ball.

Wiltshire, was reportedly travelling on the A435 near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire when the collision occurred at around 11pm.

Wiltshire was also accompanied by his friend, Andrea Harris, 22, at the time of the crash.

Ironically the motoring journalist told The Sun: “You can hear from the video I was shocked as I screamed a lot.

“I didn’t really know what to think as it was such a surprise, thankfully there was a student nurse in another vehicle which stopped so she helped.

“There was no reason for him being in the road, it is just a country road which has a pavement and there’s nothing either side for him to be wanting to get to.

“The driver behind was in a Mitsubishi pickup so it could have ended completely differently if he hit him.”

According to the publication the vehicle racked up more than £2,000 in damage as a result of the crash.

Wiltshire reportedly stayed with the injured man until an ambulance arrived on scene.

The Sun reports local police later told Wilshire the crash victim would have no lasting damage after the collision.
