A primary school teacher from Queensland has written a note to her new students - it’s heartwarming, welcoming, and it’s going viral.

The teacher from Bowen State School gave the touching note to each of her year 4 students on their first day of school this year.

The note read, "Welcome to year 4. I'm so glad that you're here. Here is a little goodie bag to help you kick off the year.

"The eraser is to remind you that it is ok to make mistakes. We'll work and learn together, no matter what it takes. The stickers mean we'll stick together and work hard as a team.

"The puzzle shows how we'll fit together, working towards a common theme. The bookmark is to show you, You'll always have a place. If you ever feel a little lost, We'll help you find your place.

"The smarties are to remind you how smart I think you are. Work hard and do your best. Remember to aim far," the note ended.

The note was later posted to the Bowen State School Facebook page and been shared more than 30,000 times.

The school's page has been swamped with praise for the teacher who hasn't publicly been named.

“Congratulations on having such a thoughtful teacher on your staff. Such a positive approach,” a reader commented on Facebook.

“Wouldn't be great if all schools took that approach. Absolutely divine,” another wrote.

A Department of Education and Training spokesperson told APN the teacher did not personally write the note herself and is not passing it off as her own original creation.

"She found it and thought it was nice."
