'I'm not a psychopath': Man who punched woman in McDonald's brawl fears he'll be deported
A Nepalese student accused of punching an innocent woman in the face after a violent brawl at a Sydney McDonald's, says he fears he’ll be deported if convicted.
Pawan Shrestha claims he mistook the woman for one of his attackers, when he allegedly lashed out and punched her in the head on Saturday.
The 19-year-old said he was drunk and dazed when he was attacked in McDonald's on George St in Sydney’s CBD.
“I apologise to her,” Mr Shrestha said.
“I never try to hit a girl. Why, why, why?
“You’re a girl, you’re someone’s daughter.”
Mr Shrestha worked at McDonald's in Bondi, but lost his job after video of the attack was made public.
“How can I show my face now,” he said.
“I’m not a psychopath sir, I’m not a crazy.”

Victims of crime advocates said police had no choice but to release Mr Shrestha on bail under strict conditions, including surrendering his passport.
Mr Shrestha will face court in February charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
