Thieves flee with $85,000 worth of sunglasses, prescription glasses
Thieves have smashed a ute into a Melbourne optometrist and stolen $85,000 worth of sunglasses and prescription glasses in a ram raid caught on CCTV.
Police said three men arrived at the Footscray optometrist at about 4.50am on Monday.
In the footage, the driver reversed a dark-coloured ute over a bus stop sign and slammed it into the store window.
One of the men, holding a black container, entered the store and raided through three separate cabinets and stole the sunglasses and prescription glasses.
The thieves then jumped back into the vehicle and drove off along Hopkins Street and into Leeds Street.
All of the offenders appeared to be Caucasian and were wearing dark clothing.
Victoria Police said they stole $85,000 worth of supplied and have released footage and pictures of the man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
