ISIS suicide truck taken out within metres of Kurdish camp
The intense moment French forces blow up ISIS suicide bombers speeding towards them in a truck has been caught on camera.
The frightening footage shows an Islamic State truck bomb speeding towards French and Kurdish fighters trying to retake the ISIS stronghold Raqqa in Syria.
Men frantically shout, firing round after round at the truck burning across the desert battle field.
BBC producer Riam Dalati, who has been covering the fighting in Syria since 2012, shared the footage on Twitter.
Kurdish fighters had fired a guided missile but missed, according to the producer.
That is when the French forces stepped in to take out the vehicle.
The suicide truck exploded as the men in the background shout out in relief.
Since 2014, Raqqa in Syria has served as the ISIS administrative capital.
Coalition forces have launched an assault to reclaim the city with a population of around half a million, said to be ISIS’s last real stronghold in Syria.
