Man stabbed multiple times in violent Sydney 'love triangle' attack

A man was stabbed multiple times in what is believed to be a violent love triangle attack on Sydney's northern beaches.

The allegedly violent confrontation took place on the doorstop of the victim's girlfriend's Cromer home just before midnight, Tuesday.

Neighbour George Hutton said he went to bed when he heard “all hell break loose”.

The woman's 45-year-old partner was stabbed several times in the chest, neck and shoulders.

He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering a punctured lung.

A short time later, police arrested a 36-year-old man at a nearby home, who is believed to be the former partner of the victim's girlfriend.

He is expected to face malicious wounding charges.

A crime scene has been established and the police are interviewing the woman involved in the alleged love triangle.
