'Get him! That's what you get!': Driver left in fit of laughter after witnessing police chase

A Sydney driver has shared his hilarious reaction to a police chase, after he was left in a fit of laughter, while filming the pursuit from behind the wheel.

NSW Police arrested the alleged car thief after a long chase through Sydney’s west on July 1.

Little did they know, another driver was following them, as they chased down the reportedly stolen car through Regents Park.

Using his dash cam, the trailing driver added a bit of light hearted commentary throughout the car chase – while he followed the drama through suburbia.

“There’s a car with its f***ing wheel falling off, this is insane, he's trying to get away!’ the man with a Kiwi accent, can be heard saying at the start of the footage.

"Get him coppers, get him!" Ram him off the road bro, ram him off the road,” he shouts, as the song ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ blares conveniently in the background.

Footage shows the driver weaving through busy traffic on a four-lane road, until he turns into a dead end street about a minute later.

"Where you going bro, where you going? It’s a dead end bro,” the onlooker shouted, cackling in the background as police cornered the suspect in a cul-de-sac.

Despite being clearly blocked in, the alleged thief made one last attempt to escape by mounting the curb.

However another police car blocked his way.

Instead of driving away and leaving police to deal with the crime, the onlooker turns his car around and pulls up next to the scene.

“Get him! That’s what you get!” he yells, oblivious to the fact that he’s getting in the way of justice.

Amused by what was unfolding, the chuckling onlooker yells: “that’s what you get!” while NSW police officers drag the 24-year-old accused from the car.

The accused was later charged with a handful of offences, including driving a stolen car and resisting arrest.

Police also removed a number of items from the car which were allegedly stolen from homes in the area.
