Man allegedly removed another man's testicle during unauthorised medical procedure

A man has been arrested after allegedly removing another man's testicle during an unauthorised medical procedure in Port Macquarie.

Police believe a 52-year-old man posted an advertisement asking for assistance with a medical issue.

On Monday 16 May, the advertiser met with another man at a Port Macquarie motel where he allegedly has his left testicle surgically removed.

One week later, the man arrived at a hospital to repair a wound from the procedure and police were notified.

At 9.30am on Thursday, officers arrested a 56-year-old man in his Glenn Ines home in relation to the incident.

Officers seized medical equipment, electronic equipment, seven firearms, and four bottles of liquid believed to be amyl nitrate.

He was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, possess restricted substance, and not keep firearm safe.

He is due to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 13 July.

Police believe the man is not a qualified or registered doctor.
