NT police devastated to be left out of 'running man' challenge

Northern Territory Police have filmed a hilarious response to the 'running man' challenge set by the New Zealand police force, although it doesn't involve any crazy dance moves.

After creating the original viral video, the Kiwi cops challenged every Australian department to take part in the internet craze - every state, that is, except the Northern Territory.

Filmed to the emotional background music of 'What About Me', the short video opens on one officer sadly watching the New Zealand cops' dance video on his mobile phone.

A female officer walks up behind him and places a comforting hand on his shoulder... and cue the music.

The squad of five officers walk around Darwin with their hands in their pockets and their heads down.

They are seen stopping to gaze thoughtfully into the distance and release big sighs as the camera zooms in for a heart-wrenching close up.

A tease at the end of the video reads 'to be continued...' leaving many viewers excited for a second video.

In just three hours after being uploaded to the Facebook page, the video has already gained more than 52,000 views.
