Taxi driver punches cyclist to ground in vicious attack
A raging taxi driver has been caught on camera delivering a series of brutal blows to a cyclist after he was pushed off his bike following a verbal argument in the UK.
The cyclist uploaded video of the incident, which occurred on August 28, 2015, to YouTube last week after it was used as evidence in court.
According the cyclist, the disagreement was sparked when the taxi driver drove too close.
In the video, the two can be heard swearing at each other before the taxi driver eventually overtakes the rider and speeds off through traffic.
Minutes later, the taxi driver can be seen standing on the road, waiting, before launching a vicious assault on the cyclist.
The driver pushes the cyclist off his bike and appears to punch him to the ground.
The attacker's fists are clenched hard as he seemingly prepares for another bout.
The two continue to swear at each other and at one point the cyclist tells the driver he is a “f---ing a------” before declaring he will be putting him “up for assault”.
The cyclist manages to get up and call the police as the taxi driver waits. Witnesses can be heard in the background asking if the cyclist is alright.
The entire incident lasted for over five minutes and the high-definition footage was passed on to police last year.
According to the cyclist, the driver pleaded guilty in court and was charged with two charges of careless driving and one charge of assault.
The cyclist said he had the video in his vault for a long time but couldn’t upload until the driver was charged.
