Fire crews rush to get Melbourne factory blaze under control

Victorian firefighters are battling a large blaze at an aluminum factory in Melbourne’s southeast.

Fire crews were called to the fire on Eileen Rd in Clayton South about 4am, with three teams rushing to the scene.

The Metropolitan Fire Brigade said the fire was now been deemed under control.

It's believed four factories were situated in the one building.

Crews were expected to remain at the scene for some time.

Emergency workers managed to get the blaze under control within an hour however they feared the fire may spread to one of the other factories which held a rare classic car collection.

Fortunately the fire wall in the factory worked and crews were able to contain it.

There was no threat to the community but the MFB have issued a warning to locals that smoke could affect traffic in the area.
