Man charged after alleged 'stabbing frenzy' on parents in Sydney's north-west

Two parents were rushed to hospital after they were allegedly attacked by their own son at home.

Police alleged the 21-year-old Kings School graduate was high on ice when he went on a stabbing frenzy at the family home in Oatlands in Sydney’s north-west.

David Anderson is accused of bashing his mother and stabbing his father.

Neighbours reportedly heard arguing and ‘loud screams’.

A family friend told 7 News she couldn’t believe it when she was woken up by news of the attack.

"I thought someone was being killed here, I better phone the cops,” Heather Sheehan told 7 News.

It’s believed David arrived at his parent’s home just after 4am Friday.

His mother Patricia, 53, allegedly suffered injuries to the face and his father, 55, was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Police spent most of Friday searching the Anderson family home.

David was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was later charged.

Police said he had to take ‘time out’ because he wasn’t in a condition to be interviewed.

Mr Anderson has been charged with a string of offences including wounding with intent to murder, two counts of wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and use carriage service to threaten to kill.
