'Ginger jihadi' may have been killed ten weeks ago
Teen jihadi Abdullah Elmir, the ‘Ginger Jihadi’, has reportedly been killed during a bombing raid in the Middle East.
The 18-year-old, who fled to Syria from his western Sydney home in 2014 is believed to have been killed between eight-ten weeks ago in the city of Raqqa, according to The Australian.
Australian counter-terrorism agencies said the teen was dead, however reports of his death were yet to be confirmed due to lack of information out of Syria.
The information comes a day after the teen apparently issued threats against the West, where he promised to cut the hands off people who opposed Islamic State.
Elmir and his wife Amira Abase, a British schoolgirl who left her country to join Islamic State earlier this year, have shared a series of posts on social media according to the Daily Telegraph.
'Soon, by Allah’s permission, a day will come when the Muslim will walk everywhere as a master, having honor, being revered,' one of the posts reads.
'With his head raised high, and his dignity preserved. Anyone who dares to offend him will be disciplined.
'And any hand that reaches out to harm him will be cut off. So let the world know that we are living today in a new era.'
The posts were shared from an account featuring an image of a man believed to Elmir, holding what appears to be an AK-47.
The account also appears to link with other extremists, some of which who praised the Paris attacks tragedy.
Before Elmir joined IS, he worked as a butcher in Bankstown, western Sydney.
He made headlines when he appeared in an Islamic State video, claiming that IS will not stop their murderous campaign 'until the black flag is flying high in every single land'.
