Russian reporters injured in Syria missile strike

Three journalists have been injured on the front-line in Syria where an anti-tank missile struck a media convoy.

A Russian reporter filmed the moment his car was hit by a shell on the Syria-Turkey border on Monday.

Footage shows the pro-Assad Syrian army waving the press convoy forward when the missile strikes seemingly without warning.

TASS correspondent Alexander Yelistratov and RT reporter Sargon Khadaya suffered shrapnel injuries. Mr Khaday’s colleague, Roman Kosarev, was concussed from the impact.

"Three Russian journalists were lightly injured and one of them shell-shocked," the Russia Defence Ministry confirmed in a statement.

"The group of Russian journalists has already returned to the Hmeimim airbase to get qualified medical aid."

It is understood the missile originated from nearby village Salma, controlled by anti-Assad rebels.

Reporters have previously died covering Syrian conflicts.
