Renee Tarbuck has spent the past three months on the run after escaping police custody.

She managed to skillfully squeeze through the window of a police vehicle all while wearing handcuffs a court has heard.

Tarbuck waited until the officers were preoccupied saving her three dogs from running into oncoming traffic when she managed to contort herself until the handcuffs were at the front of her body.

She then drove from the scene of the arrest in her own vehicle with the cuffs still attached.

The 34-year-old Gold Coast resident was so proud of evasion she sent selfie images of her handcuffed wrists to a friend.

The friend, Tarryn Lamos, then handed over the images to police.

Tarbuck’s home was repossessed earlier this year after she didn’t pay her mortgage according to the Herald Sun.

An investigation into Tarbuck was launched following her residence in Highland Park being involved in a drive-by shooting in 2013.

Tarbuck has been convicted of stealing police handcuffs and escaping lawful custody.
